 'The Trial of Jean Grey' reaches its (not at all) conclusion as we finally get the X-men, Guardians, Star Jammers, Shi'ar, Imperial Guard, and Star-Lord's dad all together. Bendis ramps the humor back up here to balance out against the weighty issues and manipulations going on in front, behind, and sometimes AS the scenes. (Never trust anyone named J.Son. That's all I'm sayin'.) Jean learns some things that only someone who wants either A Phoenix or THE Phoenix to destroy the Shi'ar should know, there's a marriage proposal you don't want to miss, and Rocket shows patience when patience is due. Not to the heights of the masterful part three, but pretty spectacular in its own right. Bonus Graham awarded for cameos from both Dire Wraiths and the whale people from Star Trek IV.
