Why review a reprint book? In this case it is to prove a valuable point. Read the title. It doesn't say Captain Marvel, does it? Nope, before she was Ms. Marvel, Warbird, and Binary, Carol Susan Jane Danvers (No relation to Supergirl) was an Air Force officer who worked side by side with Marvel's first Captain Marvel! She didn't have super powers, a cool costume, or a team affiliation. Born from the creative mind of Roy Thomas during what I like to call the "Give Women a Chance" era of Marvel at the end of the late 60's, Carol could have easily earned her own title (like Lois Lane) had fate taken a different path. With a movie in production and a guest shot in Infinity War (fingers crossed) Carol Danvers has been respectfully representing her female readers in the Marvel Universe for 50 (Yep, count them!) 50 years! (Ok, well maybe not when she would have to faint to turn into Ms. Marvel, oh and that whole Marcus/baby thing.) She was your Dad's generation heroine. Suck it, millennials!

I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams
