 The FCBD Absolute Power special is an entanglement I never thought would come to be: Brainiac, Amanda Waller, and Failsafe (a.k.a. Zur-Eh-Arrh!!). Coming off the heels of Beast World’s crazy furry invasion of the planet, and Suicide Squad: Dream Team’s addition of Dreamer, Amanda has another manipulative agenda and is teaming up with Failsafe for it. Honestly, I’m not convinced this is another book about superheroes losing their powers! The immediate and sudden shift from typical superhero shenanigans to the lack thereof at the end of the book really did leave me scratching my head. How? Why? And what did THAT? I feel this is gearing up to be something closer to Dark Knight’s Metal mixed with enslavement, robots, apparently exploding bodies!? This is just a teaser but I’m excited to see what Mark Waid brings to the table! I give it 8 out of 10 Grahams VERY FINE/NEAR MINT
